CURRENT CRUSH ~Somerset Moss is a new find for me. I discovered it wandering Venice one day in one of my favorite shops-Gjusta Goods. I immediately fell in love with the scents and packaging. There are currently five core products in the line, a FACE MIST, FACE OIL and BODY OIL with the FACE BALM & MASK being my favorites but they are all dreamy and beautiful. I was excited to connect with the founder of this gorgeous line and find out the inspiration behind the brand. Meet Sam…she grew up in England, then moved to Portugal (jealous) and now resides in Vancouver. Here she shares some of her passions & insights. Enjoy

SOMERSET~
Growing up on a farm in Somerset, England, had a profound impact on me. It instilled a deep connection to nature and a love for the simple, natural way of life. The farm taught me the importance of sustainability and the beauty of quality ingredients, which became a cornerstone of Somerset Moss.

THE BRAND~
Somerset Moss is indeed my main focus. My passion for sustainability and natural living inspired me to create Somerset Moss. The name of the brand is a tribute to my roots in Somerset and the concept of moss, which represents resilience and adaptability in nature.

PORTUGAL~
The move from England to Portugal was prompted by a desire for a change of scenery and lifestyle. I lived in a charming coastal town in Portugal. It was an amazing experience and one that further cemented my belief in simple living.

VANCOUVER~
Vancouver beckoned with its stunning natural beauty and vibrant culture. The move was inspired by a longing for new experiences and opportunities. Living in these diverse places has enriched my perspective, helping me blend different influences into Somerset Moss.

BEHIND THE SCENES~ SOURCING
Sourcing ingredients is a meticulous process. I prioritize organic and sustainable sources, often working directly with local farmers and artisans. The journey begins with research, seeking the purest and most effective ingredients. What sets Somerset Moss apart is our commitment to transparency and ethical sourcing.

BRAND PHILOSOPHY~
Our core values revolve around sustainability, transparency, and the power of nature. We're proud of our commitment to eco-friendly packaging and minimal waste production.

SHOUT OUT~ I admire brands like Patagonia for their sustainability efforts and Formula Fig for their commitment to architectural experiences within the clean beauty space.

DAILY RITUALS~
My daily rituals include starting the day with a soothing herbal tea, followed by a dog walk and what I like to call moving meditation. My non-negotiable beauty secret is the consistent use of Somerset Moss products, of course! I believe in nurturing both inner and outer beauty for a holistic approach to skincare.
I love to cook healthy vegetable-forward meals for my friends and family and do believe that our skin is also a measure of overall health.

WORDS OF WISDOM~
Starting a brand or skincare line requires passion, dedication, and a strong vision. My biggest accomplishment has been creating products that resonate with people and reflect my values. The most challenging aspect has been navigating the competitive beauty industry.

LOCAL GUIDE ~VANCOUVER & PORTUGAL
In Portugal, I adore the historic streets of Lisbon, the Douro Valley for wine tasting, and the Algarve for its beautiful beaches. In Vancouver, the North Shore mountains and trails are my absolute favourite, I find them very inspiring and a great antidote to a busy life. I also really enjoy the city's diverse food scene and commitment to wellness.

CURRENTLY DAYDREAMING~
Currently, I'm daydreaming about expanding Somerset Moss's product line to offer even more sustainable and effective skincare solutions. My goal is to continue spreading the message of mindful, natural beauty and help people achieve radiant skin while respecting the planet.
